Welcome to the EELA-2 Workshop in Dublin. EELA-2 is the second phase of the EELA project; a success story born in Genuary 2006 thanks to the co-fundings of the the european commission in the context of the EGEE project. The aim of EELA project was to instanciate a scientific collaboration between Europe and Latin America thanks to the facilities offered by the Grid technology. EELA-2 will continue this effort trying to attract more user communities.

Event Scope / Purpose
The Aim of this workshop is to show impressive results obtained by scientific communities using not only EELA-2 but also other e-Infrastructures in Latin America and the rest of the world; - Discuss policies and plans for the long term sustainability of Regional e-Infrastructures, with special emphasis on the Latin American one. The EELA-2 Project will be then shown to the Irish scientific community expecting to assess the interest of the Irish Institutions to collaborate with EELA-2 for the development of e-Science in the country.
