DESCRIPTION:People involved in scientific research have found computational problems due to ever increasing amount of requested computing power and storage capability.\nComputational Grids have been designed in order to fulfil this new requirement and covering important aspects as: Security, Scalability and Availability integrating a different set of heterogeneous resources.\nComputationa Grids can be considrered a new kind of distributed computing coordinating and supporting applications and data belonging to different organizations geographically and dynamically distributed.\n\nComputational grids can be used for many scientific domains :\no	High resolution images\no	Gathering and Acquiring Data \no	Sumulation to better understand data.\no	Real-time data processing\no	Worldwide data availability \no	Grids allow global collaborations and data sharing\no	Simulation, since Grids are widely accepted by scientists\no	e-Sclience\n\n\nThe most important concept of Grids is the Middleware that in computational terms is used to describe a mediator or a member of a group of mediators among different components of a transactional process.\nThe ULA Grid is actually using the gLite middleware. This tutoarial explains how to use this middleware to send jobs using this Grid Middleware. How to create files describing the job requests (JDLs), how to authenticate and create temporary certificates (proxies) and how to create proxies of longer duration.\n\n\nThe numeber of participants is limited to 20.\nTo register please send an e-mail to admin@cecalc.ula.ve \nhttp://indico.eu-eela.eu/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=147

EELA-2 is the second phase of the EELA project; a success story born in January 2006 thanks to the co-fundings of the the european commission in the context of the <a href="http://public.eu-egee.org/">EGEE</a> project.
